Shannon + Michael :: MillCreek Barn Wedding

While today is dreary, and I’m forced to wrap myself in a vintage quilt and write this blog by lavendar candlelight, I’m so delighted to relive a day of warmth.  There’s nothing quite like the different warmths brought on by a wedding where family and friends exchange congratulations and a newly married couple embrace.

Two months ago, Adam and I had the incredible honor to revisit MillCreek Barns where we shared our own wedding vows to document a couple near & dear to our hearts as they begin their own marriage journey.  Shannon and Michael couldn’t have asked for a more picturesque day: bright blue skies, sunbursts, and two hearts bubbling over with joy and excitement at the wonder of their love.  Looking back, I can’t but smile.  Their love is beautiful.  And they are beautiful.  And their marriage?  Bound to be beautiful as well.

The pumpkins, gourds, and popping mums made their Fall theme complete.

I loved their idea of a scrapbook guestbook! What a beautiful keepsake. 🙂

And here we enter the bridal suite to find the beautiful bride getting ready. 🙂

Stunning.

For the story behind Shannon’s gorgeous wedding rings, visit their engagement blog from last Fall! 🙂

Michael, looking quite dapper if I do say so myself.

Anyone who knows Adam and myself, know we go C.R.A.Z.Y over First Looks.  Not only because we had one at our wedding, but we love the intimacy shared in that moment where it’s just*you*two.  As photographers, we’re allowed to move around quietly (without worrying about stepping on Uncle Joe’s toes or tripping over Grandma’s cane).  There’s a freedom for the couple to be uninhibited with their feelings without the eyes of hundreds watching the time they first see each other.  We love it.  Love, love, love it.

Shannon and Michael opted for a First Look (yay!) which also allowed us for more portrait time too.  Get ready for some love, Internet!

I am falling to pieces.

Blue-eyed beauty<3

A lovely Fall boutonnière…

To match a gorgeous Fall bouquet.

Their joy is contagious. What an absolute pleasure to capture these moments.

We have bridal security in the front here, step aside. ;P

It’s time to get married!!  Adam caught this sweet moment between Shannon and her father right before walking down the aisle.

Mr. & Mrs.!

After family pictures, they wanted to re-enact their shoe inside joke from their engagement session: thus, the below. 😉  Oh, and also some amazing evening sun-glow.  Sigh, love.

After a delicious dinner where the couple ate at their “Sweetheart Table,” (love those!), they offered an amazing dessert table with cupcakes, twizzlers, Reese’s, and many, many more options for guests to take home. 🙂

An intimate first dance; I love how Michael is absolutely treasuring this moment with his bride.

After the initial dances, Adam and I enjoy watching the bride and groom enjoy.  Enjoy all the hard work over months that has culminated in such a memorable day.

See?  Laugh out loud enjoying their day.  LOVE.

We loved documenting your day, Michael and Shannon!  You both have such amazing hearts, and we with you all the best in what we know will be a God-honoring, serving, and exciting marriage.  We love you two!
