I’m writing this blog in my childhood kitchen, sitting atop one of the barstools at the counter. Mom is shouting to Dad about how to work the computer (“These letters are taking forever to show up on the screen, and I don’t know what to do!”), and Dad is cooking breakfast amidst a tower of Tupperware and paperwork, and WELCOME HOME. All the while, I’m trying to type on a PC, which means this entire experience should’ve belonged in yesterday’s Monday.
Adam and I are making a special trip down to Fort Wayne today to photograph a very special newborn baby boy, and I’m afraid there’s no immunity for Adam from getting baby fever. Especially when Heather and Bobby make such a cute baby. 🙂

STARS OF THE SHOW:
He saying it. “Breee, Breee.” Close to “Bren,” but not quite. And no, I haven’t actually heard him say it, but still. HE’S THINKING ABOUT ME. I’m on his mind and the thought leaves me totally smitten. Oh, how this boy stole my heart since I first saw him just minutes after entering this world (row one, picture three).
I was totaaaaally blowing up my followers Instagram feed Friday and Saturday with birthday celebration hashtags, but with Adam turning 25 on Saturday, I think he deserved it. He’s the bubbles to my bath. Adds a dash of sane to my insanity. Encourages me when I want to move in with the groundhog. And has accomplished so much in just this short time of life (which could be attributed to the amount of coffee he consumes :: row two, picture four) . I am so proud to be his.
POINTS OF INTEREST:
As I left the apartment Friday morning, I breathed in the crisp air, and I knew. It was Fall. I’m not sure if its the need for a sweatshirt in the mornings or just the scent of the earth changing around me, but its good, and I’m ready. Okay, I lied. I was sure it was Fall when I arrived at Meijer, and the front of the store was lined with pumpkins and mums. But in my defense, I did feel Fall before seeing it (row two, picture three).
Back when I was flailing searching for inspiration, I returned to the first person who ever sparked photographic creativity in me: Jasmine Star. She gave me the swift kick to the behind that I previously mentioned with her frankness and you are responsible for how your photos turn out (row one, pictures one and two). Not your equipment. Not your Photoshop. You as a person :: creatively and socially. So, thanks. I got it in gear again, girlfriend.
Why, hello there (row two, picture one). The newest addition to our family is the beautiful 85mm 1.8, and Adam’s smitten. He cradles that glass like its his only child. And I must say, he does have a special way with it. (You know you’re not supposed to have favorites, but I have to say that my personally love-child is the 50mm 1.4. Sweet heavens, you had me at hello.)
*(Instagram is a free app for iPhones (and now Androids!) that features various filters that are easy-to-use and make posting to Twitter, Facebook, and my blog (with the help of a personally-made Photoshop template), easy-peasy! You can follow me @brennigan)
We’ll be spending 7 hours in the car today, so if you have any questions or just want to entertain us amidst us “slug-bugging” each other, I’m encouraging comments and directed Tweets! 🙂 Happy Tuesday, Internet — check back tomorrow for some MAJOR cuteness on the blog!
