One of the last weddings to feature on the blog, I’m thrilled to showcase Lisa and Jordan‘s warm, special day in September! We’re cozying down for winter here in Holland. Quilts are used daily, decor has found its way onto the walls and into each little nook, and hot chocolate has become a nighttime staple. So while we’re in the midst of a new season, I’m loving reliving the last of the summer: sandy beaches, strapless gowns, and sunlight at 7PM!
We began our day at Jordan’s home that could accommodate a bridal party of 16 (!) along with family and friends. The ladies claimed the upstairs, and the guys hung out downstairs until we could sneak Lisa out to the church for their First Look No Look.
Jordan is a film fanatic (and going to film school as well!), and his cufflinks were AWESOME! Thankful for grooms that care about the details too. ; )
the perfect bow.
Lisa and Jordan were to be married at St. Joseph Catholic Church and opted for a quick sneak peek of each other before their ceremony.
My favorite portraits usually come during this time: genuine smiles, true emotions, and pure excitement!
happy! happy! happy!
These little looks? Oh yeah, happened the entire ceremony.
oh, the sweetest || blushing bride.<3
Why, yes, we did take advantage of the balcony’s gorgeous view.
The majority of our work is dependent on natural light (which can be hard to find in some churches). However, Adam and I loved photographing at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
The stained glass windows let in plenty of light that complemented beautifully with the alter lighting. Not to mention beautiful bright walls and gorgeous stone!
While the bridal party got it started in the limo, we took Lisa and Jordan to St. Joseph’s bluff for a few gorgeous minutes.
love, love!
But after driving to Jean Klock Park, the bridal party was ready to get crazy for the camera. And the birds. ;P
(bird is the word.)
Such a fierce, fun bridal party! They 100% brought their A game, and the camera loved them for it!
(what’s the word?)
Nothing is better than Lake Michigan in the summer. Well, maybe just married and being on Lake Michigan.<3
YES.
They held their reception at Shadowland Ballroom just a minute’s walk to the shore.
It just so happened the Ballroom is connected to the Silver Beach Carousel. And yes, we did take enjoy that. Can you tell?
Heeeelloooo, Mr. and Mrs. Radde!
Lisa and Jordan held a beautiful ceremony upon arriving at the reception where a bottle of wine, two wine glasses, and two letters all of which was sealed in a box only to be opened upon their first conflict as husband and wife. All the guests loved this idea (as did Adam and myself), and it was fun to photograph!
film reel groom’s cake. score.
a day to celebrate all night!
A year ago, we were e-mailing back and forth planning for your winter engagement. And oh, how thankful I am to be posting your wedding blog! You two had the most beautiful day! We’ve enjoyed watching your relationship begin and grow from the very start, and Adam and I felt so blessed to witness your marriage vows and capture moments from your day. We’ll continue to find joy with you in your blessings of marriage! Wishing you a memorable first holiday season as husband and wife. We love you guys!
