I met Kristen the morning of May 10th at Design 1 Spa as raindrops hit the windowpanes. I stepped lightly as I do most wedding mornings seeing the bride for the first time — especially when weather doesn’t seem to cooperate. She and Jason were planning a First Look at an antique barn they had found off a dirt road, and my heart ached for her wedding day to be perfect. We hugged and she smiled. The kind of smile that radiates through only a brides eyes. “I’m getting married today!” she exclaimed. I knew then that she didn’t care about the weather. She didn’t care if her dress got a little dirty or her hair wasn’t perfect. She had found the one whom her soul loves. And he had found her.
My heart still ached the rest of the day. Oh, but it ached with gratitude and endearment for these two. Because love was sprinkling around them gently. Just like the rain.
Beautiful!
