Last week was fab-U-lous. The recipe:
Step 1: Start with a healthy dose of lovin’. There’s a lot of that going on right now. Baby love. Hubby love. Sweet niece love. And kitty love.
Step 2: Add something spectacularly life-changing. (More on that to come later)
Step 3: Mix with celebratory massage and spontaneous furniture shopping spree.
Step 4: Top with *enjoying the small things and BIG things with those you love – like, say, two Thanksgiving feasts!

I’m still not giving in to Christmas music. I know some people start at the beginning of November, others begin the day after Thanksgiving, and some yet fight hard until the start of December. I’m crazy in a bunch of ways, so not listening to Christmas music despite even seeing the first snow is nothing new. When I change seasons, I have to feel it in my soul (I felt it in my bones when it became 30-something degrees, but I digress). Adam and I purchased our first real piece of furniture this past week – a bright yellow couch – and we’ll be putting up the tree next weekend, so I’ve got a feeling that Santa’s elves will be sprinkling magic about the house this week nudging me towards this next season.
With new babies arriving and watching more and more couples become engaged (and booking up very quickly for 2013), Adam and I have frequently discussed the significance of forming our own family (currently [and in the near future] only us two humans) traditions. While we haven’t reached an “Elf on the Shelf” stage of our life, we strive to make our home our own, our decisions ones that only the two of us make and desire, and each holiday full of memories.
Do you have any special holiday traditions? Once that bring shy smiles to faces or warm hearts?

Before my official break for Christmas (December 17th, we’re closin’ shop!), I’d like to squeeeeeze in two engagement posts, a newborn post, AND a wedding post…and a partridge in a pear tree. We’ll see how productive I am once the Christmas magic kicks in next week! 🙂
Happy Monday!
